Our names are Lori and Ryan Brooks, parents to Haven Henry Brooks. On August 17th, 2014, we established the Haven’s Healing Hands Foundation as a 501c3 organization. The organization originally began as a fundraiser for our son to pay for the natural, non-toxic cancer treatments that we chose to pursue after much research about the increased toxicity of conventional cancer treatments in children of Haven’s age. Even with the benefits of such treatments, the road that followed was too difficult for words. After a three year battle with Neuroblastoma, our son Haven passed away. In his short life, Haven had lived more, loved more, laughed more, braved more, and experienced pain more than some people ever will in their entire life. My brother Craig was the organizer of our first event and made us realize the importance of honoring our son, Haven, from that day forward by being his voice in the fight to help other children in the same terrible situation. The purpose of Haven’s Healing Hands is just that – To honor the memory of Haven by touching the lives of those who need every opportunity to heal; to bring awareness to this awful disease that Haven endured for over half of his life; and to share with others the way to experience a good quality of life. This is Haven’s legacy.
